Default Urgent help needed!!

Hey guy,
Sorry to lay this on you but it's pretty urgent! Have just got a new macbook pro (17", 500 GB, 4GB RAM, 2.8GhZ) Using FCP to import some DV from tape using log and capture. I've tried 2 different tapes and the message I get reads
' Capture encountered a problem reading the data on your source tape. This could be due to a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted and your clip saved'

This happens every 3 seconds of footage. I've tried changing the codec (to apple intermediate..I'm in PAL) I'm using an iLink cable and have no other projects or programmes running.
I've looked at some forum solutions and tried all that they suggest (such as turning of drop frames and making it unlimited RT) this is the first import that I've done on this Mac, the same tapes on my Mac at work, are fine. Please help! I have an important project tomorrow where i need to import!

eeek!!!!

Many thanks in advance

Renton

are you using the same dv playback deck/video camera at work as you are at home? because "problem reading the data on your source tape" should tell you something.
