The acoustic environment is essential to getting a good VO. These foam gimmicks don't cut it. In a few cases they can help a vocalist who your recording with a group get a clean cut without doing a separate take with the vocalist only.
But for VO they are a total waste of money. You need to watch the video as you do the VO and these obscure your view. Acoustically they tend to sound dead and often amplify room modes so you have a really odd sounding voice.
The ME66 is not a VO mic. The ME64 is suitable spend the money on that. Position it in a room with good acoustics—quiet with no hard walls—and record to your computer directly through a good interface with a good preamp. Don't try to record over dub on the camera.
